The Things You Kill Christian Review

The Things You Kill (2025) is a seriously unsettling movie. The Things You Kill (2025) is a heavy Turkish drama-thriller with a lot of moral tension and psychological weight. It really shows how grief and revenge could affect the mind of a person in a very powerful way. The main character is a university professor whose mother’s death haunts him. To find out the truth his way of thinking he just goes down this cold path – making his silent gardener do something awful for revenge.
Most of the film’s duration, the tone is overwhelming and close to suffocating. Visually and emotionally, The Things You Kill is in a very dark world. The characters live in a world where morality is blurred and justice is warped by personal pain. It echoes the bible verse Romans 12:19 —
“Do not avenge yourselves, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath.”
Still, in this particular story, man acts as if he is the judge and the price is very high.
Neither faith nor spirituality is to be found here. The professor’s fixation is a perfect reflection of the human desire to be God — to have control over what happens and be the ones dispensing justice without showing any mercy. The film doesn’t show a single instance of prayer or hope, but the very real and inevitable nature of consequence.
It features many scenes that aren’t appropriate for children or the whole family, yet it manages to communicate the vengeful never-ending cycle is actually the one that causes the deepest wounds. The very few remorseful moments that are shown towards the end might be interpreted as small glimpses of redemption – a silent suggestion that even the deepest consciences are not fully silent.
The Things You Kill is not a warm blanket kind of movie, but convicting. It shows what happens when we let go of grace and try to take control – and the fact that only God can really heal the sins which we attempt to
hide.
