The Carpenter’s Son Christian Review

The Carpenter’s Son is not your run-of-the-mill horror film. Set against the backdrop of Roman Egypt, it is about a family hiding a boy with dangerous powers as he begins to grow beyond the control of his guardian, “the Carpenter.”
“From the first scene, evidently the film is not merely about the monsters hiding in the dark but about the consequences of losing respect for holy nature.”

The rebellion of the boy against his creator simply reiterates the oldest temptation in human nature: to take what belongs to God. Instead of banishing the darkness, his power instills terror and havoc. Each miracle performed by “Jesus” is slightly off, as if the divine reverberations were twisted by human arrogance.

It is spiritually vacant. There’s no prayer and no possibility of redemption. In the absence of faith, evil simply lives. The supernatural powers seem more cursed than blessed, emphasizing control over compassion.

This is not a family-friendly film by any means, and the vibes are extremely dark. The scenes are terrifying, but they do hold a deeper meaning. If we omit the real Carpenter’s Son from our lives, something else will inevitably step into that void.

Power without love is nothing but a loud sound in an empty room. The real Son, however, is not like that. The Christ used His strength to rescue us from condemnation and death. And that truth continues to shine brighter than any shadow this movie can cast.
