Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Rise of Leo, Christian Review
This “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Rise of Leo” is not a simple cartoon for kids, friend. This time TMNT is taken to a completely different level. Meaning, here not only the villains are beaten, but the entire journey of Leo is shown- his struggle, his doubts about leadership, everything. And the most special thing is that this time, Leo seems more like a real human being than a perfect leader.
Right from the beginning, questions keep roaming in Leo’s mind- who am I, what is my responsibility, and what if I fail? There is not just the fear of failing the mission, there is also the fear of disappointing his brothers. And when he admits his fear… man, that moment breaks your heart. From a Christian perspective, that proverb comes to mind—“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Exactly the same feeling.

Forgiveness and understanding are also big themes in the film. There is a lot of tension between Leo and Raph—one impulsive, one thought. Both their thoughts clash, but in the end? Every time they choose each other. Brother, this is real brotherhood. The verse from Colossians fits perfectly—“Forgive as the Lord forgives you… and above all, love.”
If we talk about the visuals, boss, it’s absolutely awesome. New York has been shown in a slightly rough, slightly psychedelic style, but not too much. The fight scenes are great, but they are not just for showing action, Leo’s inner struggle is visible behind every punch. There are a little sci-fi tech and mystic elements, but all of them make one message strong – how to not become darkness yourself while fighting with darkness.
The tone is a little heavy, so for the little kids, parents will have to see whether it fits or not. There is a little grief, a little dark symbolism too. But if you look closely, it is a spiritual story of wisdom, perseverance and unconditional love. A modern parable for today’s times.

The biggest thing not to miss—leadership here is not about power, it’s about service. Leo’s greatness is not in his strength, it’s in his sacrifice. Just like Jesus said, “I did not come to be served, but to serve.” That’s it.
Rating? 4.8/5. This is not just for TMNT fans, it’s for everyone who has ever felt the burden of responsibility, or who is confused but doesn’t stop. *Rise of Leo* teaches us that to become a hero you don’t have to have everything. Sometimes you just need the courage to stand up.
Remember: Real strength comes from love. And real heroes are those who lift others up, despite their own fall.
