Rabbit Trap Christian Review
Rabbit Trap… Honestly, this is not a normal love story or a horror movie. It is a strange mix – a combo of mystery, grief, obsession and spiritual disconnect. Daphne and Darcy Davenport, a married couple who are musicians, move a little away from their lives and settle down in a quiet cottage in Wales, so that they can complete their new album. Sounds peaceful, right? But not at all… what happens is quite dark and a little eerie.

First of all let’s talk about morality, then the movie is not completely black & white. There is no clear definition of hero or villain. There is just a slow unraveling of flawed humans going on, whose personal demons and frustrations are taking them inside. But the strongest moral message is that when we are caught up in the race for success or in our past grief, we move away from simple truths. Romans 3:23 comes to mind – “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” This film quietly reminds us that our moral compass becomes strong only when we follow God’s guidance.
The angle of faith and spirituality is a little subtle. There is no church scene or direct mention of the Bible, but in every frame it seems that if faith is lost, a person loses his way. As Proverbs 3:5-6 says – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” The movie is saying this – “Without faith, life just becomes an empty fun.”
Family-friendly? Absolutely not, friend. Don’t think of it as for kids. There are very intense scenes – grief, psychological breakdowns, and disturbing visuals. Not vulgarity, but definitely for adults, who can understand the struggles of real life.
If I talk about positive role models, then these characters are not at all superhero type. Flawed, burnt out, and surrounded by his mistakes. But when he takes his last step – a final shift that perhaps becomes the beginning of his redemption – there is a subtle message that we can all learn from our mistakes and become better people. Ephesians 4:32 comes to mind – “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgives you.”
Biblical accuracy? No direct Bible quotes, but the values this movie promotes – humility, honesty, perseverance, compassion – match exactly the principles of the Bible.
In the end… Rabbit Trap puts a simple truth in front of us – when everything in life is falling apart, a little effort, a little faith, that’s all that takes us forward. That little light is all that lets us out of the trap.
