Muzzle: City of Wolves Christian Review

Muzzle: City of Wolves (2025) is like a howl in the night – dark, aching, and terribly sad. The film follows Jake, a former K-9 police officer, who is struggling with grief and loss after a gang violently dismantles his peaceful life. As he teams up with a new police dog, Argos, his vendetta for revenge takes him down a dark path of corruption, violence, and identity crisis.

It is not a movie of faith, but it pulses with the kind of broken humanity that the Bible knows well. Jake is a man “walking through the valley of the shadow of death.” There are moments when his loyalty and bravery flicker to life, like precious candlelight in the gloomy city. Yet, without God, the fight feels empty.

Through a spiritual lens, it shows what happens when pain becomes the only prayer. Jake’s justice becomes vengeance and the sorrow of a father becomes the rage of a mourner. And the wolves aren’t just the criminals. They’re the dark forces gnawing at his soul, trying to pull him down into despair.

The violence and heaviness of the topics are raw enough to show that what revenge is trying to accomplish can only be solved by grace. And perhaps that’s the point: to remind us that God’s mercy hunts even those destroyed rebels who once were lions.
