Alright, let’s talk about Five Nights at Freddy’s – but let’s keep it real, friend. It’s creepy, it’s dark, and honestly, a little disturbing too. As the name suggests, it’s supernatural horror, there are robots playing with their ghosts, and there’s a haunted history of a murderer hidden inside. If you take your faith seriously, this movie might make you feel a little uncomfortable.

So the plot is something like this: Mike, a guy who is looking for a job to look after his little sister Abby, one night takes up the job of a security guard at an abandoned pizza place – Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Now this place was earlier a nice family joint where the kids used to have fun, but now it has become a horror zone. Mike quickly realizes that this place is rather creepy. The animatronics – Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, all – are on some other job, they are actually haunted, they are the ghosts of the children who were killed by an evil serial killer, William Afton. If you follow the Bible seriously, you will understand that evil spirits and ghosts should be avoided a bit (1 John 4:1). So this movie is a little dark, especially if you find supernatural things a little uncomfortable.

Now, one thing this movie highlights is revenge and redemption – both concepts are very important in our faith. These animatronics try to avenge their deaths. And the villain, William Afton, kills those children with his evil acts. You will see that this cycle of revenge is shown in a negative light, and this thing is a little different from the Bible (Romans 12:19). But there is also a moment of redemption in the movie, when Abby shows the truth to the animatronics by showing her drawing. This is a sweet moment, but the method of redemption – it is a little gory and violent.

And this movie is also full of violence. I mean, this is a horror movie, so there will definitely be gory scenes. Bullets, blood, animatronics that literally eat people… If you watch from a Christian point of view, these scenes can be a little disturbing. There is a scene in which an animatronic cupcake eats someone’s face. Yes, cupcake – imagine, this level of creepy stuff is shown.

But one thing that is good in the movie is the bonding between Mike and Abby. Mike will do anything for his sister, for his family. This gives a good message about how important family is. And then there are supernatural elements. This is what happens in horror movies – ghosts, evil spirits – all of that. But if you take your faith seriously, then this can disturb you. Because these vengeful spirits try to take revenge even after their death, which is a bit wrong according to the Bible (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). Yes, I understand, it is a movie – it will be exaggerated, but they are highlighting supernatural forces a bit too much.

And then the end of the movie. So Abby shows the truth to the animatronics through her drawing, and they go against their creator William Afton. This is a good twist of redemption, which shows that truth sometimes wins (John 8:32). But when that moment of redemption comes, it also becomes a bit violent. I mean, the deaths that happen in it are a bit disturbing.

So, overall, Five Nights at Freddy’s is an intense and a little disturbing movie. If you watch it from a Christian perspective, you might find this movie uncomfortable. The themes in it – revenge, ghost possession, and evil spirits – can be a little uncomfortable. But if you watch it carefully, you get the message of family as well. So, this movie is not for everyone – if you find these dark themes a little too heavy, then this movie might disturb you. But there is also a message of redemption at the end – the only thing that comes in a violent way. These are horror movies, so there has to be some shock value.
