Finding Faith Christian Review

Finding Faith“—the very name sounds like another faith-based movie… in which there will be a little struggle, a little crying, and then in the end everything will be fine and a good spiritual message will be received. But honestly? This film does not follow the usual Christian movie line. This story is not about faith… it is about that moment when everything is broken, but still… something remains. A little hope. A little God.

Faith Mitchell—main character. Her world is torn apart in such a tragedy that she could not have even imagined in her dreams. Some of the opening scenes are so heavy that it seems you have forgotten to breathe. And the film doesn’t rush you through it. Grief is given time. Pain is given space. And that part seems the most real. Because in real life… when something bad happens, there is no quick fix. Everything stops. There is a sound but it is not understood. Confusion is everywhere. Then slowly… healing begins from somewhere.

The most touching thing? His faith journey. The people around him – family, friends, church people – they don’t show up with answers. They just come. They stay. They stand together. Just as it is written in the Bible-Romans 12:15:Rejoice with those who rejoice, and mourn with those who mourn.” The same thing happens here. No one fixes his grief. We just sit with him. Sometimes… that is enough.

A verse is mentioned again and again-Psalm 30:5: Weeping may happen all night, but joy will surely come in the morning.” But this line does not sound like some cheap Christian merchandise in the movie. It sounds like a promise. And the movie fulfils it… but not with fake smiles. With real feelings. When happiness returns, there is no noise in it. There is a moment when the heart of Faith melts a little… that’s it.

If you look at it from a Christian lens… this film is raw. Not polished. Not preachy at all. It just… feels real. The pain is real. Confusion too. And the faith that comes back does not come with any background music. It feels like an old prayer… which you had forgotten but suddenly remembered.

The film is totally fine for teens and adults. Nothing is graphic or inappropriate. But yes—it’s emotionally heavy. If you are going through a loss or are still in a phase of grief… then it is possible that this movie becomes a soft comfort for you. Not like people say “God will fix everything.” Rather… “He’s still here. Even now.”

This movie does not give answers. Maybe it gives something else. It reminds us of a memory. That grace is still alive… even if we never feel it. That God has gone… we just moved a little far away. And healing? It never comes in a dramatic way. Sometimes it just… comes. Slowly. Like an old memory. Or a prayer… which I heard in childhood.

So if you want to see, then don’t just see with your eyes… keep your heart open. Maybe something old, some lost part… will be found back.

And maybe… that is the real meaning- finding faith.
