Good Boy Christian Review
Man, only one thing feels right about dogs – they don’t cheat. Humans fail, they betray, but a dog’s love is pure. Good Boy brings this same emotion, just with a slightly creepy, supernatural layer added to it.

A loyal pup, along with his owner, shifts to a house set up like a village. Everything seems normal, a little peaceful vibes, but soon he realizes that this place is not safe. Some strange dark presence in the shadows, some forces that want to attack the human being. And then comes the real hero – that innocent looking dog who risks his life just to save his human.
Look, this is very powerful from the Bible’s perspective. This dog is a reflection of the selfless love that Christ gives us. 1 John 4:18 says, “Perfect love drives out fear.” And the movie literally shows that – darkness is strong, but love and loyalty turn out to be stronger. There is no preaching in the movie, but the subtle lesson that it imparts seems preachy in itself.
Talking about faith and spirituality, there is no direct reference to any prayer scene, church bells or Bible verse. But the underlying theme is clear: when darkness confronts, courage and sacrifice are required. Just as Jesus says in John 8:12: “I am the light of the world.” And this dog, becoming his own light, confronts evil.
Family-friendliness… forget it. This is not for kids, at all. Adult horror vibes, supernatural terror, and some very disturbing moments. If you like horror, you’ll enjoy it, but for children? Absolutely unsafe.
The dog stands in for positive role models. The human characters are mostly vulnerable, scared, and appear weak. But it’s also a strange reminder: sometimes even a dumb creature turns out to be more faithful and brave than a human being. And we humans, without God, are weak anyway. This film indirectly shows just that: the limitations of humanity and the need for God’s strength.
In the end, Good Boy is a horror-thriller that will scare and disturb you, but also provide some deep reflection. Evil is real, but sacrifice and loyalty are also real. And ultimately, the protector who will always be there is only Christ. This dog is just a small symbol of that great, unconditional love.
